In northern Kyoto there’s a Zen temple known as Kinkakuji the Golden Pavillion, whose two top floors are covered entirely in gold leaf. Formerly known as Rokuonji the retirement villa of the shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu, and is the only structure left of Yoshimitsu’s complex after burning several times throughout history. This impressive structure overlooks a picturesque pond with beautifully lined trees….. enjoy!
I’ve visited. It’s beautiful in such a tranquil setting.

I’ve been there. It’s gorgeous. So tranquil and inspiring. Funny how architecture can do that for you.

Well stated, it is amazing how a building and the surrounding countryside can create such a tranquil response.
