The beauty of Juneau is in its remote location, and being able to see trees, mountains with native flora. There are no buildings, highways or smog marking this breathtaking landscape. Alaska’s capital sits on the panhandle at the base of Mount Roberts.
Disenchantment Bay
The mist moving in over Disenchantment Bay is wondrous, an area named by Alessandro Malaspina in 1792 when seeking the legendary Northwest Passage. “Puerto del Dessengano” extends southwest for 10 miles from the mouth of Russell Fiord to Point Latouche.

Alaska is one of my favorite places! Try to get to Denali. It’s so worth it. I also love Anchorage. There is a trail along the coast you can bike where you may pass close to some local moose.
