Taking time out of a busy schedule to visit the National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, DC to view ritual wine containers with masks and dragons. Anyang: China’s Ancient City of Kings is the first major exhibition in the United States dedicated to this city, the capital of China’s Shang dynasty (occupied ca. 1250 BCE–ca.1050 BCE). The source of China’s earliest surviving written records and the birthplace of Chinese archaeology.

There is nothing like returning to the garden after a cold wet winter to find plants you thought were decimated by deer, raccoons, and rabbit’s. It was a wonderful seeing peony and iris shoots pushing through the ground. What had been planted last fall seemed to have disappeared, but was so exciting to be back working under blue skies and warm weather.

The Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie from Costco is all the rage this spring and hopefully well into summer. The heft of this pie has whipped peanut butter and chocolate in a buttery graham cracker crust. The pie is rich, but light and fluffy at the same time. I truly want this dessert as my summer staple for all our family gatherings!!!

Spending time with my beautiful niece and nephew during spring break was absolutely wonderful. I haven’t dyed eggs, put baskets together or played peek-a-boo in many, many years. It was delightful remembering childhood memories to share with them.
Stay stylish,
Kathleen
What a lovely April you’ve had! I have to say that chocolate peanut butter pie is one of my family’s favorite desserts. Taking time out to visit a museum, what a treat. We usually only do that when on vacation – but why not when we’re home, too? Having a garden and plants to look forward to, is what gets me through the winter! Enjoy the rest of your spring 🙂
