A few of us spent a long weekend in Amsterdam enjoying its rich history and culture. It’s a refreshingly approachable city to discover by walking or using the GVB Tram system. Each compact neighborhood unfolds revealing elaborate canal systems, narrow town homes with gabled facades. There are some of the most spectacular cheese shops dotted throughout where you can buy a slice or wedge to go with a bit of ham, crusty bread and wine.
The Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Anne Frank House were on our list of places to visit. Rembrandt House was under renovation and wouldn’t reopen until March 18th, but the Rijksmuseum had a few of his pieces worth seeing.

The days were cloudy, rainy and had the best wind gusts. For me walking was the best way to see all of Amsterdam.
Travel stylishly,
Kathleen
