{The wind increased to 50-mph by Friday afternoon and began blowing snow into drifts}
The last few weeks have been extremely hectic and as much as I loved celebrating the holidays at Heath, it feels as if my workload increased ten-fold once the festivities of the season ended. So, with the arrival of Winter Storm Jonas is it wrong of me to take great delight at battening down hatches and being sequestered during a major blizzard to enjoy a much-needed break?
{Shoveling the front of the house after clearing the deck of 3 feet of snow}
Learning of the storms approach last weekend, meteorologists were sure of the magnitude, but not the length of the blizzard until Wednesday morning and living in the country has taught us a level of preparedness is necessary during all seasons, especially in winter. So, having stocked up on essentials that would be needed if the power went out, I added delicacies that would be necessary while staying indoors for several days.
Helping our retired neighbors shovel out their homes is always a given after a severe storm. Here is my brother Steve helping me with the long drive of the family next door. Look at that sun against those beautiful clouds.
Heath after the storm, it was great watching the sun set this evening.
Stay safe and warm,

Nice pics. That was one heck of a snow storm. I’m proud of you for helping the retired neighbor shovel their driveway. Very thoughtful of you when the region was hit by the 2nd largest storm on record to offer your assistance as well as shoveling your property too. Nice job and even nicer boots you got on.

I was pleased to have help with shoveling and to know our retired neighbors were secure. And, these boots were water-proof and very warm.

The pic with the trees made me think of Robert Frost poem, Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. Hope your enjoyed the snow days!

Thoroughly enjoying the snow days and love the Frost poem! What a lovely literary analogy to the woods surrounding our home-
“The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep”,{Frost}

Gosh don’t these scenes look familiar. LOL. Our neighborhood looked the same. It was like a prison camp being liberated when the plows finally showed up. We were all out in the street with shovels. The poor drivers. They must have thought they were going to be attacked.

Snow was piled so high I thought it would takes months to melt and every neighbor was ecstatic to see the plows on the street. But, the best part was that the electricity stayed on!!!!
