This weekend the mid-Atlantic transitioned from extreme warmth to severe cold in just a few hours. The high winds forced me to batten down Heath to keep the frigid air from blowing through the windows, doors and fireplace. Leaves blew in circling gust that were so fast and furious they looked like snow falling, while branches flew to the ground with earth-shaking intensity.
Stay warm,
K
The leaves do look like falling snow! The coming of winter is both beautiful and yet ominous

I look forward to slowing down and being sequestered indoors during the winter!

I got up at 5:15 this morning to view the stars and to retrieve the paper when a wind gust of about 25-30 miles came whipping up! I huddled deep into my jacket and held my coffee closer… yes winter is definitely here!!!
