Summer’s Last Hurrah

IMG_4296It is good to be home after experiencing the severe heat and crowds when traveling throughout Europe, and while I still have a post to share from Athens it feels great to be back at Heath.

IMG_1612 IMG_4214As summer comes to a close, I shall miss meals prepared outside on the grill and served with slices of seasonal fruit, but cannot wait to turn on the ovens to bake or the stove to cook stews and soups.

It is always thrilling to witness the transition of each season and fall has to be my absolute favorite time of the year. Perhaps it is because I am not a fan of summer’s  heat or humidity. I love the fact that soon there will be chilly mornings and evenings along with leaves rustling and the smell of wood from fireplaces. And, there is nothing, absolutely nothing that beats a crisp clear night filled with stars! Fall is almost here!!!!!

Stay stylish,
K

Destinazione di Venezia

IMG_5041The best way to explore Venice is to maneuver away from the crowds and then get lost in the back passageways of the city. Wonder off the beaten path and you will experience scenic neighborhoods with a myriad of colorful palazzi, museums and churches without ever having to refer to a guidebook.

IMG_4497IMG_5100It is breathtaking to see structures from another era unfold as you walk or motor around in water taxis; the new built upon old is what appears to keep the city from crumbling into the sea.

IMG_5035 IMG_4401 Our hotel {JW Marriott} was set on a private island in the Venetian lagoon, which was preferable to staying on the Piazza San Marco with so much noise and so many tourists. Shuttling by water taxi to San Marco took about 15-20 minutes and at the end of each day there was always a quiet place to completely relax.

Travel stylishly,
