Enjoying October

Can you believe it ……October is just about over? Where did the time go? When you live in the mid-Atlantic temps constantly leave you feeling sticky and sweaty, one begins to think the heat and humidity of summer will carry into the next two seasons. But fall has officially arrived and so much is happening at Heath. We’ve been repairing all that has fallen apart in and around the house, as well as tending the gardens before the cold of winter arrives.

Taste of LA

The Pink Taco on Sunset Blvd has a vibe that rock’s no matter what time you arrive. This was the first restaurant I frequented upon arriving to West Hollywood years ago, and on each visit must return for their pitcher of margarita’s made with organic agave and fresh lime, and to sample the shrimp or fish taco!

Nate’n Al’s is a Beverly Hills delicatessen, and is the perfect spot to lunch before flying back to the east coast. It’s the only place in Los Angeles that makes a fabulous cup of coffee, serves cold, crunchy pickles and makes the best Matzo Ball soup. The “corned beef” Reuben on rye is a must, and please don’t leave Los Angeles without trying either the corned beef Reuben called The “Hollywood” or tasting the Nate’n Al, which is pastrami with a wondrous Russian dressing.

Also try these establishments:
Wood + Vine
6280 Hollywood Blvd at Vine Street

and

The Thompson HollywoodRooftop Terrace for cocktails after a day of museum hopping. The 360 degree view of LA is a great way to relax with hors d’oeuvres and crisp Napa wine.
