I watched the James Bond thriller Moonraker the other night and began to wonder… what does 007’s London look like? The movies themselves are extremely glamorous, risqué and yes, sensationally dangerous! Imagine dining in that Mayfair restaurant with an elegant interior and delicious menu that serves very cold, very strong martinis, which are shaken, not stirred!!
{The Aston Martin DB5 from Goldfinger-1964 and the Lotus Esprit S1 submersible from one of my favorite movies The Spy Who Loved Me-1977, along with personal effects from the Bond films}
Well our reporters stopped by the Bond in Motion exhibit in Covent Garden to view and photograph the high performance machinery and memorabilia from these infamous movies.
{“Little Nellie” from You Only Live Twice-1967 starring Sean Connery}
These action vehicles and items are crucial to the movies, their designs are usually creatively well thought out not to mention state of the art for the time period. There are no replicas of these items and each original displayed is on loan from EON Productions. Listed are a few pieces from my favorites movies.
Enjoy,
K
