Loving April

April started out cold, windy, and intense. But there is still so much that I am enjoying.

Tulips from our garden near the wooded area in the backyard, along with an outstanding sunset from this evening after the rain.

Peter Chang’s

Last weekend, the family wined and dined at a new restaurant in the Arrowhead Shopping Center in Herndon. The Szechuan style dining was delicious and will become a frequent location for lunch with the girls..

Smithsonian – National Museum of Asian Art

While in the District of Columbia this week I did a quick pop in to the National Museum of Asian Art to see a few of the ancient Chinese bronzes.

We live in a heavily wooded area, and the fox along with racoons get into the neighbors trash containers to find items to eat. They drag their goodies into everyone’s yard for a midnght snack., but no matter …….. I always appreciate getting outside regardless of the reason and the season!

Stay stylish,
Kathleen

The Strip- Pittsburgh

Yesterday, I returned from a quick trip to Pittsburgh for a bit of museum hopping, a little shopping and a visit with family. The Strip is a narrow half-mile tract located off the Allegheny River just outside of the city with converted warehouses that create a vibrant mix of old-style grocers who still offer fresh fruits and vegetables, seafood, meats and spices under one roof. The street is lined with gourmet shops, street stands, and classic eateries.

I stocked up on spices, cheeses and pasta from the Pennsylvania Macaroni Co. Their deli counter offers a great selection of cold cuts and prosciutto is always a must. My nephew and I did a quick round in Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop for that hard-to-find treat, we even saw candies you cannot find anymore.

Have a wonderful New Year,
Kathleen
