THIRTEEN

When I began blogging thirteen years ago social media was barely a “thing”. AI hadn’t been incorporated into our daily lives and was usually seen in Sci-Fi movies on Saturday night.  As I learned to navigate the dynamics of social networking and blogging, I felt an increasing pressure to share more of my personal life. My goal is to inspire good taste and beauty regardless of the critical issues around us.

Stylish Heath is my creative outlet a way of sharing tidbits such as; seeking out the latest hotspots in the metropolitan area of DC, traveling the world to just learn, baking delicious treats, or growing gorgeous flowers in the garden.

Most of my life and time are tied up in being creative, it’s truly the best thing being able to justify testing a chocolate chip cookie recipe on a weekday or trying a floral arrangement in some part of the house to elevate the tone of a room.

Here are a few stylish favorites over the past year from Heath!!!

Upon arriving in London’s Heathrow last January we checked into our hotel, unpacked then and headed to the Kensington for “Afternoon Tea”. Truly a civilized way to relax after the transatlantic flight.

The National Gallery of Art-London had Van Gogh on exhibit until the 20th of January, and I found zooming in on the works of art more aesthetically pleasing. It allowed me to see the texture and colors of each work.

Lunch with the girls at Peter Chang’s in Herndon, Virginia. I can eat Chinese food any time someone mentions a restaurant..

There will always be Paris……..

End of summer was spent in San Jose del Cabo, Mexico…… enjoying food and drink!!!

Thank you for sharing in 13 wondrous years!!
Kathleen

LOVING OCTOBER

It’s that time of year where you can’t help notice the change in daylight hours, I love when it gets darker earlier and leaves begin changing colors {those beautiful earth tones} falling in piles to the ground. The past week temps have plummeted in our area and we’ve had a few frost warnings.

Morning walks are frigid; I’ve had to pull out the fleece lined sweat-jackets to stay warm; it’s a glorious feeling sauntering the neighborhood in the crisp air.

The colors of sunset at Heath ……….

Last weekend a few friends got together for a girl’s night out at Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore.  Two of us live in Northern Virginia, it was a good 55-mile drive to this locale, but once we arrived the atmosphere was very relaxing. The cocktails and food were quite tasty. We shared two appetizers; the crab cake egg rolls served with a famous slaw, mango ponzu and spicy mayo. Next was their famous crab dip served with a garlic bread and Monterey jack cheese. I ordered the soft-shelled crabs which was absolutely delicious.

My adorable nephew and niece enjoying the season. Eli playing in the football game last weekend and his sister Aria got her ears pierced …… !!!

Interpol’s Stolen Works of Art

Since graduating from art school many years ago, I periodically review Interpol’s “Stolen Works of Art” database to keep abreast of cultural and aesthetic happenings around the art world. So many of my colleagues and friends have been fascinated by the Louvre robbery last Sunday by four men in broad daylight. It saddens me to know these priceless items have been stolen, but like so many people, its fascinating keeping tabs on this situation.

Stay stylish,
Kathleen
