The Vermeer exhibition at the Rijksmuseum is the largest showing of his works ever. There are 28 of his 37 paintings to view and each is spectacular!!!

This four-poster bed is one I want for Heath. Made of pinewood and oak with European and Chinese silk damask . The Netherlands 1715-1720.

Friday morning rush hour in Amsterdam. Love the bicycles and everyone walking to work.

Arrived in Amsterdam yesterday and have been enjoying the sites; the Rijksmuseum, gardens and the architecture of homes and shops on the water!!!

This was a small portrait of Queen Elizabeth painted by Lucian Freud in 2001-02 at the National Gallery (London). The facial features, crown, and hair are built up with thick layers of paint set against a dark background.

On a cheese hunt in Harrod’s! There were a lot of wonderful treats in the deli section.

Chinatown in London is an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants and history. The streets are a vibrant mix of colors, music and food.

Dinner at The Shard….. the tallest building in the UK with a phenomenal view of the city.
