



| January is the perfect month to hibernate with a cozy cashmere throw, scented candles or sipping something spirited after shoveling snow from two winter storms {Heather and Indigo}. Slow living can be enjoyed when you take a few moments to be considerate towards nurturing your senses. Each evening, I make sure the house is picked up and comfortable. Mood lighting is set with soft jazz playing throughout to create a relaxing atmosphere. It’s a wonderful time to catch up with yourself and ground down with these snug sensations. |






Pisco y Nazca is a Peruvian restaurant that recently opened in our neighborhood. Inspired by Peru’s top ceviche eateries that serve bold flavored dishes, and unique cocktails. Each dish was absolutely delicious, and this ceviche bar was the perfect venue for friends visiting from Peru and Spain this weekend. Upon entering the dining area, you can’t help but notice the vibrant bar with views of an open kitchen.
We shared a few dishes starting with “Causa de Pollo” a chicken salad with whipped potato, avocado, red pepper confit, and mayonesesa acevichada. Then we had “Crocante” which was panko shrimp, whipped potatoe and rocoto aioli. Friends enjoyed the “Ceviche Sampler”, while I shared the “Plancha Anticuchera- Mariscos”- grilled shrimp, squid, octopus, choclo, potato cakes and anticuchera sauce.
Let me add that the Pisco Sour’s and Chicha drinks were phenomenal. Pisco Sour’s are made with lime juice, sugar syrup and egg whites, while the base ingredient of Chicha is a corn culli, the bright purple chicha morada {unsweetened}, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice cubes.




Made beef and chicken stews to freeze for meals later in the week. Along with a small jar of pear preserves to go with warm bread for morning meals or lunches. The preserves and bread are great with ham and/or slices of cheese {preferably Stilton}.
