Here are a few favorites to enjoy this weekend!

  1. When in college I did a paper on Georgia O’Keefe and while researching found her personal life to be absolutely fascinating, well she continues to not disappoint in the following article: Georgia O’Keeffe’s Younger Man. Also, the Tate Modern Museum in London will present a major retrospective of the American modernist, Georgia O’Keefe a century after her New York debut from July 6th to October 30, 2016.
  2. How Jamaica Fell for the Desert Boot: The Story of Reggae’s Love Affair With Clarks.
  3. A Sweet Indulgence
    Sugar rush in a delicious treat that I made yesterday using only a few ingredients!!
  4. Shooting Tips for All You iPhone Photographers
    Instead of carrying my huge Canon around regularly I found these useful photography tips when using my iPhone.
  5. The Grackle
    This butterfly and moth list is most inspiring for the summer garden!

There is nothing like enjoying the weekend with family and friends after a hectic workweek; making time for dinner and a movie on Friday evening, leisurely perusal at the farmers market for fresh fruits and vegetables to make a tasty meal on Saturday and then popping into the National Portrait Gallery for a bit of art is always a great way to relax on Sunday.

Fresh fruits and vegetables from the farmers market early Saturday morning made for a great pairing of delicious fried chicken with drop biscuits last night.

Edgar Degas who was a good friend of Cassatt’s did this painting}

On Sunday afternoon, time is carved out for popping into the National Portrait Gallery on 8th and F Streets, NW in Washington, DC; and instead of reading about each person portrayed within the gallery one can peruse each floor to examine how the artist is depicting people within a painting, photograph or sculpture.

Pamper yourself stylishly,
