December Evenings

It’s already December, the weather is getting colder…… you might even say frigid! Festive decorations are up in the community, while FedEx and Amazon trucks make regular deliveries to neighbors at Heath. Our nephew who is almost two years of age has been keeping an eye out for Santa, and his excitement reminds me of my childhood experiences during Christmas. Each evening we enjoy the holiday music wafting throughout the house, which is completely relaxing after a rough day at work, and the best part is coming home each evening to see decorations twinkling in and around the fireplace.

Stylish Heath contributor Tony Sanchez and few friends took a warm Thursday evening last week to drive and see the holiday lighting at Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, SC. Upon arriving you may procure a warm cup of cider, cocoa, or wine to sip while walking the garden pathways listening to the sounds of holiday music. Carolers singing amid the soft glow of candles and lights that decorate trees and shrubs, setting the festive mood for the season!

Malcolm the cat with freshly picked pumpkins from the garden!!!

The family really pulled together to get the house ready for Halloween this year. Steve and Paul raked and mowed the lawn to get the pile of leaves off the walkway, drive and sidewalks so; the trick-or-treaters would have a clear path to the front door. Pumpkins were picked from the garden to decorate the entryway and leaves were selected to adorn baskets for candy.

Maria and I have been giving out sweets to the most adorably costumed creatures, who have been banging the doors off the hinges for lollipops and chocolates. But the kids are so well mannered, remembering to say thank you for their treats and wanting us to have a good evening.

To all Ghouls & Goblins have a Very Scary and Safe Halloween!!!
