Night Life in Osaka

What is it about night life attractions that people are drawn to when perusing a city? For me its being able to move about and observe freely without appearing out of place, all while taking in what a culture has to offer. The illuminated signboards at Ebisu Bridge, neon lights, video screens and mechanized signs along the boardwalk each attempt to grab one’s attention!

The last city on our teams trip was to Osaka, and Dōtombori is one of the principal tourist destinations, which runs along the Dōtombori canal from Dōtonboribashi Bridge to Nipponbashi Bridge in the Namba district.

What stood out for me were the number of restaurants ranging from traditional to modern in technique, but one item that must be mentioned is Osaka’s food culture that can be summed up in one word: kuidaore, which roughly translates as eat until you drop or to eat oneself into ruin!!! Everything from sushi to ramen were the street foods of choice. Osakans are passionate about food, and though I cannot eat until I drop, I do so enjoy grazing with each of the vendors.

Travel stylishly,
K
