Orchidaeae is a flowering plant that is very colorful and often fragrant; a perennial herb that lacks a permanent woody structure.
It has been unseasonably warm here in the mid-Atlantic with temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s, and while I am secretly hoping that winter is over, one can never be sure when a cold front will move back throughout the area. With spring just a few weeks away, I love meandering around Heath viewing seasonal blooms, but this orchid took me completely by surprise. I bought the plant a year ago for a few dollars at a market, brought it home, cared for it then nothing…. until now. Look at these gorgeous flowers!
Quite a lovely flower……..and yes, I think spring has arrived.

These are so pretty. Different from what the orchid in India looks like, but just as alluring.
